Slightly less known but similar as it's a more ballady type song of a metal band is Cemetary Gates by Pantera. This is the live version which is far superior to the album version. If you appreciate guitar playing at all, make sure you the pinch harmonics (they're the bit that sounds like the guitar is squealing). It's quite a hard technique and for someone to nail it live so much as Dimebag (RIP) does it is amazing.
Yes, I did, I am, erm, utilising the internet to find out more. PM me your address again and I'll send you a couple of Arcade Fire Cds. Everyone needs it in their life.
Yeah, I'm a big fan of Mum. Have you heard their last album at all? It had some nice moments on it, and was even more bonkers than the last one, if that's possible. They played in Manchester when I was in Iceland, annoyingly.
I think it's late enough in the evening for a bit of Mogwai. This'll be shit on the PC though. Mogwai needs a mind in turmoil, a large whiskey, headphones and a warm bath.
Music. I don't really know who most fo the mentioned bands are. ExCept Arcade Fire and Radiohead.
I think the stuff i like is all quote MOR compared to most of this. I like Maximo Park, and Kings Of Leon particularly at the mo, and am just listening to Them Crooked Vultures to see if I like that.
People who like their guitar bands to just do things properly (eg Manics fans) should find much to love in The Cribs latest album, Ignore the Ignorant:
