You can get a ferry from Wales to Dublin, that's pretty good.

My mate claims that he went to Cardiff on the train once, came out of the station and one of the first things he saw was some girl being taken by two guys next to a wall, that's fucking amazing if true.

As well as Lu's list; there's Brightside's daughter, and Brightside's cats too.

And there are some cracking roads. And Hay on Wye.

Which is pretty much the most comprehensive list I can come up with at the moment. I'm sure Luther will be along soon and completely sports fuck my list and make you all wish you live here, mind.

I can't think of any more famous Welsh people. Apart from Richard Burton, but I don't know if he's worth adding to the list.

Oh, isn't Antony Hopkins Welsh?

I've just wiki'ed to save anyone looking, and there are millions and millions of famous welsh folk. Including Tommy Cooper, SHAKIN' fucking STEVENS, Goldie Looking Chain, about 300 boxers and a couple of rugby men.

Yeah, but Jonathon Davies is Welsh too and he looks like a gerbil.

I have no idea what point I am making here. And that bird from that band, you know 'it's all over the front page, you give me road rage' is Welsh as well, isn't she?

Old Cerys Matthews. Yes, she's Welsh and makes me feel a bit better about myself actaully, as she's aged even harder than I have. Which is always good to witness.

I'm actually getting a bit excited about Luther's reaction when he sees this thread in his very own Welsh forum; he's going to be utterly fucking chuffed. It's definitely showing a bit of favouritism, Lu, but it'll be worth accepting it, knowing he's going to get all proud and choked up about His Cymru.

I am going to make this a different forum every week. I think I will enjoy this.

I thank you for the deep honour of this forum, short term or otherwise.

Here is my take on this fine principality:

1. Do not suggest that Owain Glyndwr was a fucking posh boy royalist at heart.
2. No bantering about rugby. Not if you're an Englishman anyway. It is not funny.
3. The national speed limit is 45mph.
4. The flag should really be a big picture of a golden chip sticking up from a burly shoulder.
5. The valleys keep the global steroid industry going.
6. This fair principality is completely constructed out of breeze blocks.
7. Where the breeze block look is not required, pebbledash render is the only other government approved building material.
8. Swansea is the wettest city in the UK. Official.
9. 'Gog' Wales is a completely different country. Completely.
10. The Gog accent is like scousers trying to speak Welsh with a mouth full of marbles.

The steroid and pebbledash things are quite prevalent up here. I think it might be a 'the country' thing. And S's best mate up here is so unreconstructed it makes me cry a little.

Oh, I forgot the whole Wales two Newports thing. Wales takes two steps back for this.

I got done for speeding in Wales. Only 85 too, for fuck's sake.

My mate thought I was going to kill her in Wales. That was the two Newports thing. She texted her last will and testament to her boyfriend as I overtook a caravan at ninety on a blind bend. This is when I used to drive like a twat.

Newport, Gwent is one of the most depressing cities I've ever been to. Horrible. If I'm ever feeling negative about Swansea, I just pop over to Newport for a bit and suddenly the rest of the world seems like a brighter, happier place.
