Notify me when a reply is posted

I would probably recommend setting it so that "Notify me when a reply is posted" is set to "No" by default when people register if possible.

I know you can change it in preferences after registering, but really I don't think anyone wants to actually get e-mails every time someone posts to a thread they have posted on unless they are sad unloved people who desparately want e-mails, and those people can then turn the option on if they want

Vermin, the notification on and off thing is in your Profile under preferences. You have to change it, I can't.

Don't seem to matter how I set it, I keeps getting these notificaion messages.

Profile, Preferences, scroll down and there's a 'always notify me of replies' question which is default set to yes. If you switch it to no, that *should* work.

If you are 'watching a thread' you get a notification even if you've switched off your preference for notifications. So you have to unwatch things.

I know that it can be turned off, but surely there must be an admin option for it to be automatically turned off. Sort it swiftly Susan.
