GAH. I just went to tidy my beard up and take it down to grade 2, however I managed to take a nick off shorter somehow right on my chin, so there was no way of hiding that, so I've just taken it down to grade 1 to tidy that up which is shorter than I want it to be, and I've somehow managed to get a shorter bit again under my chin this time.
It isn't so noticeable now so I might just hope it grows out as I don't want to go to grade 0

No, Grade 0 is just very very very short. It has no cover for the blades, so it's equivalent to cutting with a pair of scissors really close, but not as close as a razor blade.
I think grade 0 is 1mm, grade 1 3mm, grade 2 6mm.
